It is early in the hockey season but it was not long ago that we saw Colorado and Minnesota on the ice against one another. The two teams locked up in a home-and-home near the end of the preseason with games on Sept. 25 and Sept. 27. The Wild came out the victor in both contests, 3-2 in overtime and then a 5-2 win in regulation.
That was the preseason. It was also almost a month ago.
It is still very early in the year and so we will not put too much weight into results. That doesn’t mean we are ignoring the 7-3 loss the Wild suffered to the Rangers. Nor does that mean we are excusing the 5-3 loss by the Avs against Calgary. We look at some reasons behind both to make money now.
The Rangers dominating the Wild is more a story on the Rangers — they also absolutely dominated Tampa Bay as well. So, for the Wild, we look at them the same way we did entering the season. The team has a legit MVP candidate in Kirill Kaprizov. There are high hopes for Matt Boldy. Youngster Marco Rossi is showing promise. Cumulatively, this is a Top 5 power play unit in the league.
Colorado, for its part, opened the season with our predicted win against Chicago (an easy pick). It then suffered the setback against Calgary. Watching the game it was obvious that the team was spent from the opener and travel. Early back-to-back games are just tough on the body.
Thankfully for Colorado, it got the weekend off to get its legs back under it. The trip to Minnesota won’t be as taxing and the downtime will be welcomed.
Bottom line is that we look at both teams like we did in the preseason.
That means, Colorado looks like it is primed for a dynasty run.
Both of these teams are really fun to watch and can both score — making this offer all the better, since you are locked into hitting that bonus. Minnesota has the home ice advantage — and is opening the season with four at home, which is quite unusual, but Colorado still appears to be the more complete team.
You can only pick one, and in this pairing we look for the Avalanche to get right. Bet them to win and get your free $200 from BetMGM when a goal is scored!
