Kansas State against Baylor? The basketball gods must be smiling down upon all of us. These are two great NCAA basketball teams, so it’ll be a great game. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. This is Kansas State’s game to lose.
Baylor has been having one heck of a season. They’re ranked 19th in the country, and that’s not by accident. Adam Flagler has been a weapon this season, averaging 16.2 points per game on 46.5% shooting and, specifically 48.1% from three. That is some stupid efficiency. The 6’3” guard has also been leading the bears in dimes while looking smoother than fellow alumni David Wesley. One bone I do have to pick with this team is that one of their least efficient scorers is also their leader in points per game; maybe Keynote George could take a page from Flagler and pass every once in a while. It’s also definitely not gonna help the team’s morale that they’re going into the game on a 2 game losing streak.
Kansas State on the other hand, has been absolutely rolling. They are currently in the midst of a seven-game winning streak which includes a win against 6th-ranked Texas and West Virginia. K-State also beat Texas by scoring 116 points during the course of a game, a lot of which came from stud Markquis Nowell. Not only does this man have games where he drops 36, as he did against Texas, but he also is an elite ball distributor with an average of 8.5 assists per game. He’s also got significant help from forward Keyontae Johnson, who’s been leading the team in average points while snagging 6.9 rebounds per game. This duo is on a tear and doesn’t seem to be losing any steam, rolling into this upcoming week.
