This Friday, the Cincinnati Bengals are facing off against the Green Bay Packers at home for their first preseason game. This will be the Packers’ first game without their 18-year veteran Aaron Rodgers after he decided to play for the New York Jets at the end of last season. The new starter, Jordan Love, has done a great job dealing with the drama surrounding Aaron Rodgers over the past couple of seasons and will be looking to show Green Bay that he has what it takes to fill the future Hall of Famer’s shoes. Obviously, Green Bay fans would rather have old reliable in at quarterback but Jordan Love might give this Packers offense the spark they need to get to the top of their conference.
With the cancellation of the 2020 preseason and his injury last year, Joe Burrow has only played in one preseason game throughout his entire NFL career. Despite Burrow’s history of not playing much in the preseason, he told reporters that “a series or two would be beneficial.” With the possibility of Burrow building some momentum on the first couple of drives, the Bengals could have a major advantage going into this one. Burrow is going to try to come out and set the tone early and that could have a major impact on the rest of the game.
Leading up to the game, the Packers will be in Cincinnati so the teams can hold joint practices. Holding a joint practice in the preseason isn’t new for the Bengals. Last preseason, they held a joint practice against the Rams where the two teams spent more time brawling than actually playing football. As much as I love a good scrap on the football field, I don’t think we’re going to get the same level of intensity that we saw in the Rams-Bengals preseason matchup.
This preseason matchup will definitely tell us a lot about what both teams are going to have to offer this season. With Burrow seeing the field and Love playing in his first game as the Packer’s true starter, I have to ride with the Bengals. They were contenders for the conference championship last year and are in the top 5 of pretty much every preseason power ranking. Ride Bengals Moneyline.
The Bengals are contenders while the Packers are rebuilding. Take the Bengals moneyline and get your extra $200 in bet credits.
