I want to be nice to Tottenham fans here I really do, but it’s just not a recipe for success is it? Man United have made a couple of pretty big signings this off-season that look to make the team a whole lot better and all you’ve done is sell Harry Kane. I mean Manchester United looked shaky against the Wolves so maybe there’s a small chance that you make something out of the game but I don’t have much hope for you.
The Tottenham Hotspurs have just sold club legend Harry Kane to Bayern Munich. To quantify how big of a loss that is let’s look at his goal tallies last season. Across all competitions, Harry Kane had 41 goals and nine assists. In the Premier League alone he had 30 of those goals and was second in scoring to only Erling Haaland who many consider to be more of a robot than a man. He was so good last season that Bayern Munich decided he was a good enough replacement for their own club legend Robert Lewandowski who they sorely missed in last year’s Bundesliga campaign. I have a funny feeling that he’s going to absolutely shine for the Bavarian giants this season in a way that Spurs fans are going to hate. With Kane gone from the team, I just don’t know where the goals are going to be coming from. Son seems to have lost a step, Richarlison has been atrocious on his best days, and if you’re looking at the attacking midfielder James Maddison to get all your goals then I’m sorry, you’re going to be in trouble.
Manchester United came in third in the premier league last season to Tottenham’s eighth, and have only added to their team. I’m looking at new midfielder Mason Mount, and new Goalkeeper Andre Onana as two huge signings to the Red Devils. Onana shone in his first outing in the premier league, not letting up any goals and literally throwing his body on the line to block shots. (And maybe take out some shot-takers). Mason didn’t quite explode onto the scene with his first premier league game, but he did start and he is slowly molding himself into this team. He’ll only get better as time goes on and against this weaker Tottenham team, he’ll be feasting.
Manchester United is a great team that got better while Tottenham is a bad team that got worse. Bet on either team‘s moneyline and get your extra $200 in bet credits.
