New York Jets v Buffalo Bills

The NFL is chugging along quickly as we have already reached Week 6 of the season. And as we near the midway point of the season, the race to the postseason will begin to heat up. Here are some of the key matchups for Week 6.

After firing head coach Robert Saleh to start the week, the New York Jets will host the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football. The Jets and Bills bost desperately need a win in this AFC Divisional clash, as the division is as up for grabs as it has ever been. The Bills, Jets, Dolphins, and Patriots have a combined seven wins this season. With the Jets at 2-3 and the Bills at 3-2, a win by the Jets could move them to first place as they would own the tie-breaker. But a loss would move them 2-4 record which would be a steep hole to climb out of.

The Detroit Lions will travel to Big D to take on the Dallas Cowboys in the late afternoon slot. After a slow start to the season, the Cowboys are starting to put it together. They have won back-to-back games for the first time in the season after an impressive win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night. They’ll look to keep the momentum going. The high-powered offense of the Lions has them looking like true contenders this season. They are averaging 26 points per game and should be well-rested coming off the bye week. But despite a hot start to the season, they are sitting in second place in the NFC North. With the undefeated Vikings standing in their way, every win counts.

The Washington Commanders and Baltimore Ravens will square off in a quarterback duel between a former MVP and a future MVP. Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson appears to be gunning for his third NFL MVP. After starting the season 0-2, Baltimore has put together three consecutive victories against the Cowboys, Bill, and Bengals. However, they are still in a tight race in the AFC North as the Pittsburgh Steelers also have a 3-2 record. Jackson a company will look to extend that win streak to create some more separation. On the Commanders side, Jayden Daniels is having one of the most impressive rookie campaigns to date. He has thrown for at least 225 yards in each of his first four games. The Commanders also have a firm grip on the NFC East at 4-1. If Daniels can keep up his hot start and keep the commanders on top, he could make a late entry into the MVP Conversation.
