It’s time to get HYPED, football fans! Can you believe the NFL is officially at the midway point? We have reached Week 9 of the NFL season. With the season coming to a close, every win and loss matters more with teams preparing to enter the playoff hunt. Week 9 will conclude with Monday Night Football and a pair of the highest-scoring offenses in the NFL as the Kansas City Chiefs will square off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in what should be a highly entertaining matchup.
The Kansas City Chiefs are rolling! Their campaign to become the NFL’s first team to win three consecutive Super Bowls is very much alive. The Chiefs stand alone as the NFL’s one unblemished team, with a record of 7-0. And their journey to being undefeated has been no walk in the park either. They have faced some of the most talented teams in the NFL this season including the Baltimore Ravens, Atlanta Falcons, and San Francisco 49ers. Even more impressive is that the Chiefs have done so all while dealing with a slew of injuries to their roster.
Much like the Chiefs, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have also dealt with a myriad of injuries this season. In their loss to the Falcons in Week 8 they were without their two top wide receivers, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin who got injured in Week 7. However, despite the seemingly insurmountable turmoil that Tampa Bay has dealt with, they are still very much alive in the playoff race, sitting at 4-4 and second place in the NFC South. But even though their position is somewhat favorable, they cannot afford any more losses with the season’s end nearing.
So whether you are rooting for a clear favorite or hoping for a miracle by the underdog, the most important thing to remember is that you must be in it to win it.
