The moment is finally here! Alas, Former UFC champion Jon Jones will take on eighth-ranked heavyweight Stipe Miocic. The showdown will take place on Saturday, November 16. It will go down at the world-famous Madison Square Garden in New York City and will also be streamed on pay-per-view.

Jon Jones is widely regarded as one of the best combat athletes ever. He also has the resume to back that claim, coming in with a record of 27 wins and just one loss.  Jones is known for his freakishly athletic fight style. And the combination of speed, agility, and power is one of the many reasons many consider the pound-for-pound GOAT. However, Jonny “Bones” Jones has not stepped in the Octagon in over two years, with his last bout coming in March of 2023, making quick work of Cyril Gane.
Stipe Miocic comes into his fight against Jones boasting an impressive record of his own. For his career, he has a record of twenty wins compared to just four losses. Miocic previously had one of the most storied trilogies in the history of UFC, getting the best of legendary fighter Daniel Cormier. But in his most recent fight against Francis Ngannou in March 2021 he was knocked out in the second round.

Both boxers have been away from the Octagon for a significant period of time to focus on this upcoming fight. Which makes you wonder if “ring rust,” could become a factor with both competitors.

So whether you are rooting for a clear favorite or hoping for a miracle by the underdog, the most important thing to remember is that you must be in it to win it.
