We are officially in Week 3 of the NBA calendar, which means that the season is in full swing! One of the key matchups this week will be the Los Angeles Lakers taking on the San Antonio Spurs in what should be a highly entertaining matchup between two Western Conference juggernauts.

There was a lot of excitement surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers this season. After being eliminated by the Denver Nuggets in the playoffs (yet again) the Lakers parted ways with head coach Darvin Ham. When they hired former NBA sharpshooter JJ Reddick to take over there seemed to be a clean slate for the Lakers faithful. But to this point of the season, the Lakers have once again been underwhelming to start the year with a record, currently sitting in seventh place in the Western Conference.

Many saw 2023 as a trial period for Spurs rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama. Despite putting up other-worldly numbers for the Spurs in his rookie year, it didn’t translate to wins and fans were hoping that would change this year. But to this point in the season, not much has changed for Wemby and the Spurs. They are currently sitting in 12th place in the Western Conference 5-6 record.

With both teams in desperate need of a win, the stakes are high in this matchup.

So whether you are rooting for a clear favorite or hoping for a miracle by the underdog, the most important thing to remember is that you must be in it to win it
