The Cowboys haven’t had much to cheer for this season. With a record of 3-7 on the season and sitting in third place in the NFC East division, it is looking like they will be on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoff race — yet again. But even though they don’t have much to play for as far as the postseason is concerned, a matchup against their division rival New York Giants is enough to be a motivating factor. The Cowboys are coming off a win against another division rival, the Washington Commanders, who they beat at home last Sunday. Now hosting this division rivalry game, the Cowboys will be looking to emerge victorious again.
For the second straight year, the Giants benched starting quarterback Daniel Jones, and for the second straight year not much has changed. After going back to Tommy DeVito against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the quarterback change heeded much of the same results as they were blown out at home and remained in last place in their division. The players may not have much to play for during the remainder of this season. However, their head coach Brian Daboll does. Multiple reports have suggested that Daboll is coaching for his job from this point on and if he doesn’t show some type of promise, he could be out of New York after this season.
So whether you are rooting for a clear favorite or hoping for a miracle by the underdog, the most important thing to remember is that you must be in it to win it.
