The Boise State Broncos were one of the best teams in College Football this season seemingly out of nowhere. And that is all thanks to their star running back Ashton Jeanty. Jeanty’s took off like a rocket from the start of the season. Through Boise State’s four games, Jeanty has accrued 845 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns en route to a 3-1 record. The Broncos finished the season on top of the Mountain West conference with a record of 7-0 with an overall record of 12-1.
It took them 10 years but the Nittany Lions have finally made it to the College Football Playoff in the James Franklin era. And it didn’t happen easily. They played in a loaded Big Ten Conference that featured two other College Football Playoff teams (Ohio State, and Oregon) and still finished second in the conference with a record of 12-2. However, their 1-2 record against ranked opponents this season leaves a lot to be desired.
The Nittany Lions come in as the heavy favorite in this matchup. They are favored by 11 points over the Broncos. Oddsmakers have this one as a high-scoring affair with the over/under marked at 53. points.
So whether you are rooting for a clear favorite or hoping for a miracle by the underdog, the most important thing to remember is that you must be in it to win it.
