Is This What College is Like For Girls?

Okay, let’s talk about this ASU girl who has gone viral for her “detox week” nonsense because I can’t be the only one who’s had it up to here with the glamorized lifestyle on social media. I mean, I get it—every time this girl posts, I see her sipping some overpriced green juice while pretending to be spiritually enlightened, and I’m over here like, “I don’t even know how I survived my college years without chugging an energy drink the size of my future student loans.”

You’re telling me the pinnacle of college life is a $200 dinner after a yoga class and a 20-minute outfit selection? Get real. If I wanted that, I would’ve gone to ASU and called it a day. This girl spent more time taking outfit pictures at dinner than at class. The only “detox” I knew was when I woke up after a night of questionable decisions and thought, “Alright, maybe I’ll hydrate… tomorrow.” This whole “week in the life” content? We’ve all seen it. It’s the same recycled stuff: brunch, overpriced lattes, and people pretending to “manifest” their way to influencer fame.

And let’s be honest, this girl’s going to blow up even more than she has already. Why? Because we’re all watching her live this absurd life like it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread. But for real, this isn’t the “dream college life.” If I wanted to envy anyone’s life, it’d be the guy who’s got a solid weekend routine of slinging back beers at the local dive bar, dominating in intramural sports, and keeping it simple. That’s the good life.

But hey, props to her for playing the game, because in the end, it’s these “day-in-the-life” videos that are creating million-dollar brands while we’re just trying to survive finals week without burning out or crashing out.
