NFL Sunday Preview: Raiders/Commanders
It is truly incredible to think last year they went from the second overall pick to the NFC Championship in less than 300 days- but that’s the NFL for you. Expectations are different this year, and so far the Commanders are barley meeting them.
Week 1 was hardly a cause for concern as the Commanders took on the Giants in the Meadowlands, winning 21-6. Jayden Daniels threw for 233 yards and added another 68 on the ground, and the defense didn’t allow a touchdown. But that was expected.
Washington kicked off Week 2 when they played the Packers in Green Bay on Thursday night. They lost 27-18, but the score makes it seem much tighter than it really was. Washington scored 3 points through 3 quarters while Daniels posted an abysmal 27.7 QBR. Even though the Packers are Super Bowl contenders and were favorites to win at home, the loss was a wake up call for a young Commanders team that wants to reach the NFC championship for the second year in a row. They look to rebound in their home opener- but now without Daniel’s who is still recovering from a knee sprain he suffered in that game.
This sets up a matchup both teams desperately want to win. Sportsbooks think this game stays within a touchdown score, giving the Radiers +2.5 on the spread and the Commanders a -148 ML. DraftKings has set the total at 34.5, a lower end spread that is most leuly due to Daniels absence.
Bets to consider for Sunday :
- Washington -2.5 at -105: They either cover or lose and I believe in Dan Quinn.
- Under 43.5 at -118: This is a RAT line. Every ounce of me wants the over, take the under.
- Zack Ertz TD scorer at +320: Ertz is a big target for Mariota – I think the vets stick together.
