Week 2 preview:
The Cowboys entered the season less than a week removed from trading Micah Parsons in the biggest trade the league has seen in years, causing many to assume this was going to be a rebuilding year for Dallas. That might not be the case. The Cowboys kicked off the season in Philly, where they surprised a lot of people with how close they kept the game, only losing by 4 with a few key drops from Lamb. Dallas’s Week 2 matchup was the game of the week, as Brandon Aubrey became the first kicker in NFL history to hit a game-tying field goal at the end of regulation and a game-winning field goal in overtime. While the offense looks great, the defense is near the bottom of the league in every metric.
Dallas entered the season pessimistic and are now optimistic; the opposite is true of the Bears. Chicago hired Ben Johnson as their head coach this offseason. Johnson, the former OC for the Lions and easily the top HC candidate on the market, was given the keys to help develop Caleb Williams and turn Chicago around. Unfortunately, the Bears blew a two-score lead in Week 1 vs. the Vikings and got steamrolled by Detroit in Week 2. A loss this week to Dallas at home would raise some serious alarms in Chicago. This sets up a matchup both teams desperately want to win. Vegas thinks this stays a close game, giving the Bears +1.5 on the spread and the Cowboys a -120 ML. DraftKings has set the O/U at 50.5, a monster spread for the NFL.
Bets to consider for Sunday :
- Dallas -1.5 at -105: Dallas is much better than the media would like to admit, and Dak is playing his best football in two years.
- Over 50.5 at -108: I know, it’s high. But these teams couldn’t stop a gerriatric from getting a second serving of pudding.
- Jake Ferguson TD scorer at +205: Ferguson has sneakily led TE’s in target and has been Dak’s go to option outside of Lamb for years now.
All of the lines above are from DraftKings, which is also offering over $400 in value to sign up today.
