DJ Daniel was given 5 months to live 6 years ago when he was just a child. Now as a teenager, DJ has been sworn into over 871 police departments.
During his speech to Congress, President Trump recognized DJ in front of the nation, and announced he would be making him an agent of the Secret Service.
I believe this came as a surprise to DJ, who was diagnosed with terminal brain and spine cancer when he was just six years old. He became the youngest-ever agent in US history as Secret Service Director Sean Curran presented him with an honorary badge.
When he was given five months to live, DJ made a goal of being sworn into 100 different police stations, now he sits at over 870 and his tour has gone international.
After police helped his family out during the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, DJ set his sights on giving back to his community. Not only has he been sworn into American police stations, he recently was sworn in as an Italian police officer.
A heartwarming story of the President honoring the strength of a child who just wants to give back. Keep fighting, DJ!
