Well, it is that time of year again, the NBA postseason is around the corner, the NHL playoffs are about to start, and most importantly, BASEBALL IS BACK!!
With that being said I am feeling generous and will share predictions that come from my wealth of baseball “ball knowledge” and tell you who I think will win each division, then probably reference my genius when (if and only if) I am right.
Here we go!
We will start with the AL because that is the real division.
AL East: Boston Red Sox
Call me a homer, but I think the Sox can do it this year. We added a bunch of pitching, the bullpen is gross, Wilyer is the MVP, and Campbell is the rookie of the year. Bregman at third and Raffy DHing? Hell, give me the Sox to win the World Series.
AL Central: Detroit Tigers
Tork has looked amazing, Skubal isn’t fair, and Detroit baseball might be almost all the way back. Baseball is better when Detroit is good, and these Tigers might be the team to do it. Throw in Javy and Carpenter and I like this gritty team.
AL West: Texas Rangers
I mean in an AL West that is much weaker than it has been in recent memory, how can I pick against the team that won a Championship so recently? DeGrom and Eovaldi as Aces, the $500 million middle infield, Josh Jung, and a star-studded outfield? Yeah, I feel good about this one.
NL East: Mets
Man I want to say the Phillies but how in good faith could I pick against the Mets? Solid starting pitching with a good bullpen, Alonso and Lindor in the infield, and one of the better outfield in the League. I like this pick, but who knows the Phils or Braves could catch fire.
NL Central: Chicago Cubs
Again, maybe this is just wishful thinking but like Detroit, baseball is better when the games played at Wrigley are meaningful. This is a decent division and I think the Brew Crew could make some noise, but if everything goes according to plan the Cubbies should be solid this year and I think they win the division with their offseason additions.
NL West: You Know
I’m not saying it you can’t make me
