What Just Happened? Luis Garcia Makes Great Play After Scary Collision

Man, it is fully baseball season and I could not be happier about it. I love all of the major US sports, but every season when baseball gets back into the swing of things, I’m reminded that it is without a doubt my favorite sport.

Now, some people who are not as into the sport as I am claim it’s soft. If you want soft go watch the NBA. Baseball has some tough moments, I mean pitchers are throwing 100 miles an hour, and if they miss, ouch.

One of these tough moments happened during a game between the Mets and the Nationals.

Vientos of the Mets hit a little blooper into shallow left center field attracting the center fielder, the second baseman, and the right fielder.

Luis Garcia actually came out and caught the ball, but was taken out by his teammate, Alex Call. After he gets his legs taken out from under him and hits the ground hard, Garcia still is able to hang onto the ball and actually has the presence of mind to move his glove and expose the ball so his teammate could grab it and no runners could just keep advancing.

Both players stayed in the game so it seems they are ok!  Not only that, but Luis hit a walk-off single to win the game and complete the comeback for the Nationals.
