After a set of amazing games on Thursday night, the first set of matchups in the next round of the Basketball Tournament have been decided, and man we have some great ones to look forward to. Personally, I’m about as excited for this FAU/Kansas State game as a kid on Christmas, so here is what you need to know to make the most out of this sweet offer from Bet365.

I’m not going to lie to you, dear reader, I am unhappy with FAU. I had the boys of Tennessee winning in my brackets, and despite being ~5 point underdogs, Florida Atlantic took down this powerhouse program more easily than I take down my first pitcher on Friday night. This Florida Atlantic team averages 78 points a game, which is tied for 36th, showing that their offense is more high-powered than my first bathroom trip of the day. To reinforce that point, their offensive rating is 114.7 which is 17th overall and about as high of an offensive rating as South Park would be to your Catholic grandparents. Not only are they good at scoring, unlike me, they’re very solid defensively with the 18th best team based on overall defensive ratings. Argue about how bad their conference is all you want, but these guys won 33 regular season games which tied Houston for most this season. Johnell Davis has been great this tournament, averaging 13.9 points in the regular season but stepping up when the lights are brightest, with 29 points against FDU and 15 against Tennessee. This is a scary team… but for some reason Kansas State is the favorite here.

I will tell you why. Despite regular season offensive struggles, Kansas State only averages 1.8 less points per game than Florida Atlantic. Everyone knows how important free throws have been this tournament. Tennessee struggled from the line and lost. Same with Arizona, and Gonzaga’s poor free throw shooting came so close to sending them home like a kid who got into a fight at recess. Kansas State is a top 55 free throw shooting team while FAU is all the way down in 190th. So many teams have been hurt by poor free throw shooting so that stat is absolutely something to keep in mind. Kansas State also has more assists per game than I have per bar night, and not trying to brag but I’m a solid wingman. While their offense is good, Kansas State is primarily a defensive minded team. FAU has struggled defending the paint, and Kansas State loves to drive inside and crash the glass with more efficiency than Amazon gets out of it’s workers who aren’t allowed bathroom breaks. With Keyonte Johnson and Markquis Nowell both averaging over 17 points, I think Kansas State is in better hands than Allstate, and with a supporting cast deeper than The Lion King, I’m backing them to move on to the next round.

Both Kansas State and FAU are 7-3 against the spread in their last 10, so I like the moneyline. Bet on Kansas State moneyline and get your extra $365 in bet credits.
