It almost seems too good to be true, but I am so happy to report after too many long months without it the NFL is all the way back. Kicking off with what should prove to be an electric season is a game between the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs and the young upstart Lions of Detroit. Let’s break it down so you can responsibly make the most of this sweet offer from our sportsbook friends.
Man, I love the Lions. There’s nothing like seeing a franchise struggle for so long and then finally start to turn it around and there is no city that deserves it more than Detroit. Goff is a legit QB1, people forget he led a Rams team to the Superbowl and lost to the GOAT by only ten points. He had 27 touchdowns compared to only 7 picks, just under 4500 yards, and a pretty solid QBR. Amron-Ra is poised to be a top-tier receiver and the rookie running back Jahmyr Gibbs is looking solid. They have a good offensive line and had one of the best defenses in last year’s first half of the season. Aidan Hutchinson is a scarier sight coming off of the line than seeing your ex walk into your bar. The secondary is pretty solid and overall this should be a well-rounded team coached by someone who lives and breathes football. These are not the Lions of the late 2010s, but will it be enough to beat the defending champs in the season opener?
Man, I’m not sure. This is such a classic matchup between the best franchise in the NFL for the past couple of years versus the worst franchise that is finally turning the corner. Patrick Mahomes is without question the best active player in the NFL playing the most impactful position in all of sports. Travis Kelce is making a case for being crowned the greatest tight end of all time, and that offensive line should do a great job keeping Mahomes safe. The wide receiver room in Kansas City is a little shaky, but there are some young studs like Skyy Moore, Justyn Ross, and Kadarius Toney who should be more than enough for Patrick Mahomes to make his presence known, just like the brutal friend of the girl you’re trying to chat up at the bar. I love this very talented running back room, and man the defense is scary scary. Chris Jones is a monster, the linebackers are very good, and the secondary is as well. Overall this team is the favorite to win the Super Bowl for a reason, and while this game might be a bit of a battle I think the Chiefs will probably come out on top. That being said I’ve been wrong before and you should always gamble responsibly.
