This might be my most anticipated preseason game ever. These are two of the most exciting coaches, two of the most exciting offense, two quarterbacks who we had given up on and yet had career years in new systems, and two teams with elite-level offseasons. Tell me what you are not excited about in this matchup. I’ll wait. The Giants against the Lions has got to be the most if not one of the most highly anticipated games this preseason and having said that, give me the coach who is on record saying he’ll break kneecaps to come out of this one on top.

The Giants are an exciting team. That is the best word for them; exciting. Danny Dimes just got absolutely paid this off-season. Did he deserve it? Who knows, he’s had one really good season after having a few not-so-good ones. Is Daboll the answer to his QBing woes? So far it seems like it so let’s just hope he can continue these new levels of production. Someone who didn’t get paid, and who also had an awesome resurgent year is Saquon Barkley. Of course, I know he signed that new contract but come on. One year? 10 million(ish) dollars? That is some crazy disrespect for a guy that’s worked his butt off for this organization. Will that cause a rift in this offense? That’s what we’re here to find out. I also love the addition of Darren Waller to this offense. He is going to add a great third-down dump option for Daniel that he has shown he definitely needs. Plus on those third-down dump options, he’s such a talented player that he can turn third and short into a gain of 20, 30, 40 yards.

I am in love with this Lions team. If I were the Cowboys I’d watch out because this team is much more of America’s team than they ever were. Their new backfield? Oh sign me up, Jahmyr Gibbs was electrifying at both Georgia Tech and Bama, and rookie Runningbacks in great systems have a habit of doing some amazing things. (Saquon anyone?). David Montgomery is a great running mate to have for Gibbs as well. An established back who can take on a heavy workload and coach up this young talent to take over the bell-cow duties when he’s ready. Dan Campbell has also been one of the best coaches in the NFL since he took over the team. He instilled this level of desire and work ethic into every facet of the team that has seen them produce exponential growth during his tenure. I am buying every bit of Lions stock this offseason. Aiden Hutchinson, Amon-Ra Saint Brown, Jameson Williams, and even Jared Goff have shown great promise or have elite talent. This team is primed for an amazing year, and I think it starts with a win against New York.

This Lions team is farther along in their rebuild than the Giants. Bet on Detroit‘s moneyline and get your extra $200 in bet credits.
