The Mets are a playoff team, without a doubt. I know that their offensive production has fallen off worse than Chance The Rapper, but their pitching is stellar, and guys like McNeil and Guillorme will get out of their funks sooner rather than later. Keep in mind, the Mets have done all of this without their best player, so I’m reasonably confident in the boys in the orange and blue finishing the season above the ninety-five win threshold. Unfortunately for the Mets, I don’t see any of those ninety-five wins happening in the next two games.
Despite the fact that the NYM have Taijuan Walker on the mound for game one, I don’t think anybody is stopping Aaron Judge anytime soon. The guy is batting .474 with four home runs in his last seven games. He’s hotter than Salma Hayek in From Dusk Till Dawn. With the lack of production from the Mets’ offense recently, both of these ballgames could be decided by one bad slider hitting the barrel of Judge’s bat. The Yankees average 1.7 home runs a game. Until the Mets get their bats hot again, I don’t see them beating the best power team in baseball. Take the Yankees.
