The Sox almost had it last night. A solo shot from Triston Casas and a three run homer from Reese McGuire had the Sox in the lead through 7. A sac fly tied it up in the 8th before the Yanks were able to close it out in extras. The Red Sox played pretty well with Wacha only allowing 3 through 6, but good just won’t cut it against the NY team. Veteran Rich Hill is on the bump tonight, and if Boston wants to tie this series they’ll need to continue shelling Gerrit Cole like they’ve been doing for the past couple of seasons. I’m looking at you Devers.
Now for the Yankees. Judge missed hitting number 61 by just a couple of feet, so Stanton picked up the slack with 2 run shot of his own. Rich Hill has not been good this season with a 4.70 ERA, giving up 4 through 4.2 in his last start. Gerrit Cole on the other hand has been pretty good with a sub 3.50 ERA and 12-7 record. The Yankees have had the Sox’s number all season, and I think that will continue tonight. Look for Judge to get 61 and the Yankees to go up 2-0 in this series.
