After an incredible showing at UFC 287 I’m so fired up to watch more UFC, and we have a nice fight night coming up, and I’m here to tell you what you should know so you can responsibly make the most out of this sweet offer from Bet365.
As usual, the most excited fight of the night is the main event, and this week we have a top 10 featherweight matchup between Max Holloway and Arnold Allen. Arnold Allen has been on a tear. The Brit is 19-1 all time, not having lost a fight since June of 2014, which is right around the time I was convinced the world was coming to an end because of Ebola. He is currently ranked 8th, and for good reason. Nine of his twenty fights have gone to decision where he is 8-1, not having lost a fight any other way. This dude does not get knocked out OR submitted. The vast majority of Holloway’s fights go to decision as well, so personally I like the over on rounds for this fight as a little bonus pick once you get your bet credits. One thing I don’t like on Allen’s ledger though, is he has never fought for more than three rounds, but I think he still will have the conditioning and ability to stretch this one out, even if he is losing. He is not the fighter that Max is on paper, but I think he will surprise some people even if that is not by winning.
Now Holloway is favored for a reason. One big thing he has going for him is experience. He has been in almost double digit fights that have gone farther than three rounds, and has lasted the entire five rounds 8 different times. Allen has never even fought in the fourth round. Experience like this matters. Holloway also has been a champion before, and is fighting to get back to another shot at the belt. He has been in 9 separate title fights, winning five of them. He has won more fights than Allen has participated in. Max also has three inches of height and a little more natural weight to him. I think Allen will prove to be a little more challenging than some people expect, but Max “Blessed” Holloway should be able to add another victory to his ledger and get one step closer to a return to title contention.
Man oh man I love the UFC. If you agree with my pick, bet on Max Holloway and get your extra $200 in bet credits.
