Guard Marcus Sasser leads their scoring with roughly 16 points a game as the Cougars are on a six-game tear and have only lost one game which was to 8-ranked Alabama. Now Cincinnati has also been solid, but their defense has been lacking as they let up almost 70 points a game. Some people are writing this game off as an easy win for Houston, but I’m not.
Cincinnati has one of the best offenses in the nation averaging just under 80 points a game. Their leading scorer David DeJulius is putting up 16 a game on 47% shooting. Those are very solid numbers. They’re 8-2 in their last ten and have had some tough competition like Arizona, Ohio State, and Xavier. I think people are really overlooking this Bearcats team. They’re well-coached and have a chip on their shoulder. Also, the home court advantage for schools is great. I think this game will be a shootout and that the value is on Cincinnati. They have the better offense, and if the defense can slow down the Cougars, this is their statement game.
