In the words of John Harbaugh, it’s out of the Ravens’ control whether or not the AFC North is up for grabs, but they still have to win. Time will tell what the NFL decides to do with the postponed Bengals vs. Bills game that led to Damar Hamlin’s cardiac arrest. However, there are a few things we know for sure. One, Damar Hamlin’s life is the most important thing at stake right now. Two, even if the Bengals vs. Ravens game on Sunday afternoon isn’t what decides the AFC North, it’s still a hell of a matchup. While the Ravens are missing Lamar Jackson (Tyler Huntley makes him look like Joe Montana), the Baltimore defense has been something special. Before last week’s game against Pittsburgh, opponents of the Ravens were averaging 3.3 yards per carry since acquiring Roquan Smith. That’s insane. In that span, the Ravens have made Nick Chubb, D’Onta Foreman, and Alvin Kamara look like Trent Richardson- holding all of those guys to under 100 rushing yards. But stopping the runs more efficiently than a bottle of Pepto Bismol isn’t the only area where the Ravens have improved. Baltimore started the year as a defense that struggled mightily on third down. At a 35.05% opponent-conversion clip, they now rank fourth in the league (and best since acquiring Smith). Being that Joe Burrow has a league-best third-down completion percentage of 69.1%, Baltimore will have their hands full. Speaking of Joe Burrow, let’s talk about that handsome SOB who my girlfriend won’t shut up about.

Joe Burrow is poised to become the NFL’s all-time leader in completion percentage as long as he makes at least eight pass attempts on Sunday. His completion percentage in the fourth quarter? 71.1%. Burrow is quickly becoming the guy your friend points to in the what quarterback would you want leading your franchise couch conversation. As talented as Joe Burrow is, the Bengals deserve a lot of the credit for his growth by surrounding him with weapons (take notes, Ravens ownership). The Cincinnati Bengals have one of, if not the best wide receiver trios in the NFL with Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Tyler Boyd. So far this season, they’ve combined for 205 receptions, 2,693 yards, and 20 touchdowns. While the Ravens’ secondary has improved in tandem with their league-leading twelve straight games with multiple sacks, they still have the 24th-best defense against the pass, with opponents averaging 234.1 yards per game. They have to hope cornerback Marcus Peters can return from his calf injury and support the secondary, or Ja’Marr Chase might be serving roadkill at his house on Sunday night. The entree? Raven. The Ravens will win a close contest if Lamar Jackson suits up for this game. If he doesn’t, they will need JK Dobbins to have the game of his life, and their defense will have to put so much pressure on Joe Burrow that he looks like he did in that picture of him wearing the Lebron jersey at age sixteen. Vegas likes the Bengals -7, and they will cover that, and then some if Lamar Jackson sits on the sideline. Want to try and put some money in your pocket for a long weekend vacation? Take the Bengals moneyline and get your $200 in site credit when a TD is scored.
