For the first time in what seems like forever, the College Football Playoff will not be graced by the presence of Bama. Instead we get an unusually sweet Sugar Bowl matchup between the Crimson Tide and the Wildcats. Let’s break it down so you can (responsibly) make the most out of this sweet offer from BetMGM.

Now 10-2 is a good season by almost every stretch of the imagination except if you’re Alabama. 40.8 points a game while only allowing 18 is so wild. Their only two losses were a buzzer beater field goal from Tennessee and a one point loss in overtime to LSU. Despite a couple of losses who declared for the draft, most of the key pieces on both sides of the ball will be active, namely Bryce and pass rusher Will Anderson. Kansas State’s biggest weakness seems to be their run defense, mine is just talking to women. Bama averaged almost 200 yards a game on the ground and should be able to take advantage of that weak point. The Wildcats also have a pretty inexperienced QB, and even though he has been very good, will that be enough to take on big bad Bama?

Now Kansas State is by no means just a cakewalk for the Tide like some people think. Vegas has the spread within one score which speaks to their respect for K-State. They have the best defense in the Big 12 and a solid offense to go along with it. The Wildcats just handed TCU their only loss of the season in the Big 12 Championship. While Alabama’s offense is a couple steps ahead of the Wildcats their defenses are comparable. I think that Deuce Vaughn and a run game averaging almost 210 yards a game will be able to do some damage against Bama’s rush defense, one of their most vulnerable points. Bryce Young doesn’t have the weapons that historically Alabama offenses have had, and if Kansas State plays clean and forces turnovers without committing many like they have most of the season, this should be a great game. It’s up to the Wildcat’s defense and special teams to win them this game, but I think they’re up for it.

I might be insane but I see value on Kansas State, so take Kansas State to win and get your free $200 from BetMGM when a TD is scored.
