I know that Jay Wright wants this one BAD. ‘Nova barely beat Saint John’s, came down to the wire against Providence, and they lost to UConn the last time these two teams met. Villanova needs a confidence booster, and a win against UConn could be huge for them. I feel like the Big East, but particularly UConn has been overlooked all year. The Huskies’ big three of R.J. Cole, Adama Sanogo, and Tyrese Martin are among the best trios in the country, and UConn is one of the best rebounding teams in college basketball. As underrated as I think the Huskies are, I have a cardinal rule to never bet against a white Villanova point guard who looks like he should be working at Goldman Sachs in his senior year and Collin Gillespie is that man. My only concern with Villanova is that they’re not deep at all. In fact, they’re about as shallow as a hot chick from Long Island. This can pose problems against teams that offensive rebound the ball like a mofo, but I don’t think Villanova is going to let UConn win this game. Take the ‘Cats (and the over).
