If you had told me that in 2023 a game between the Celtics and the Kings was going to be a game between two top seeds in each conference I would have told you that we need to stop spending time together. But here we are, it’s 2023, the Kings and Celtics are both really good basketball teams and their game against each other will be great. However, there is one glaring reason why the Celtics will win against the Kings in this matchup. History. One of these teams has consistently been going to the playoffs these last few years while the other……well let’s just say they haven’t.
The Sacramento Kings are a good basketball team right now. It feels weird to say, but it’s true. Both De’Aron Fox and Domantas Sabonis have been having amazing seasons, and it’s caused the Kings to currently be second in the West. Domantas Sabonis has been inching closer and closer to a triple-double every game he plays. He’s currently sitting on a stat line of 19.2 points per game, 12.5 rebounds per game, and 7.2 assists per game. He is an absolute force to be reckoned with and if there wasn’t an even better European big man in the NBA he’d be talked about a whole lot differently. Plus it doesn’t hurt that he’s playing with one of the best offensive talents in the game, Malik Monk. Which, yes, is mostly a joke, but he has been liable to drop 45 points some nights. So like, not that much of a joke.
However, the Celts are a much better team than the Kings. For one we have a future MVP on our team, and a squad full of guys hungry for a chip. Do you think they want to allow a team like the Kings to continue their current skid? No way. This Celtics team is absolutely taking it to the Kings, and to be honest, there is not much any NBA team can do against a motivated Celts squad. I feel like a broken record talking about the depth and talent of this team but it can’t be overstated. Their current sixth man is a guy who has been a part of the 50/40/90 club. The other members of said club that are playing right now? KD, Steph, Kyrie. End of the list. I mean that’s insane to have a guy like that as your sixth man. Not to mention our starting five of Marcus Smart, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Al Horford, and Timelord. Between these five guys, there’s too many All-Star appearances to count, and a defensive player of the year trophy. Not to mention some All-NBA appearances.
This may be a good game on paper but we all know the Celtics are a better team. Bet on the Celtics, and get $100 in bet credits!
