We absolutely love single-elimination basketball around here. How else are you going to get a game that’s this good between a three-seed and a seven-seed. Michigan State has already beaten teams like Marquette and USC to get here, showcasing their depth fight. While Kansas State needs no introduction, they’ve looked great so far. I think I’ll give the edge to Kansas State, but this is anyone’s game.

Michigan State has knocked out my tournament champions and they did it in impressive fashion. Marquette only led once the entire night, and the lead was brief at best. Joey Hauser, whose brother is cooking in Boston right now, hit some clutch buckets. Channeling the three-point prowess of his brother he made the shots when it mattered most and helped MSU punch back. And A.j. Hoggard was on demon time going 5/9 from the field and adding a crucial 13 points to the team total. But New York native Tyson Walker was the real star of the show. The man had 23 points and at times seemed to be willing his team to this victory. Which makes sense seeing as though he was playing for the chance to play in the Mecca of basketball MSG. And as a native New Yorker, this is almost definitely a dream come true for him, so you already know the man is going to be motivated to play well in this matchup.

Kansas State is like no team that MSU has seen thus far, however. They have one of the best one-two punches in basketball right now, and they’ve been continuously proving it during this run. Markquis Nowell, and Keyontae Johnson are names that you should always remember. In the first two games of this tournament, Nowell has a better shooting average than 50%, which is just insane considering the man is averaging 22 points across those two games. In the game against Kentucky alone, Markquis not only scored 27 points but also had 9 assists. The man is currently in his prime Chris Paul form, but unlike the point-god may actually win a championship. And of course, it never hurts that he’s got a forward in Keyontae Johnson who’s big enough to be getting 8 boards, but also can knock down a three when you need him to. Watching these two perform on the same team can sometimes give you this sense of hopelessness unless, of course, you’re a Kansas State fan.

Both of these teams have been tearing it up and deserve to be in this game. Honestly, they both deserve to be in the Championship game but unfortunately, they play each other here. I would say bet on Michigan State, but it’s anyone’s game in single elimination. Bet on Michigan State’s moneyline and get your extra $200 in bonus bets.
