Michigan at Penn State. Once again, we got ourselves another dogfight between two iconic BIG-10 football powerhouses, except one of these teams has significantly less to play for than the other. This is certainly no clone of last week’s Michigan vs Indiana game, where Indiana was literally playing for nothing other than the love of the game, but I’d say the stakes are pretty low for Penn State.
They just lost their third game in a row, completely wiping away their college football playoff hopes. And it’s not like they are playing to stay bowl eligible, as they already accomplished that accolade many weeks ago… so now all they are really playing for is the type of bowl game they attend… which isn’t always the most motivating force.
Michigan is still technically in the hunt for the college football playoff, thanks to this past weekend’s buffet of upsets, so they are fighting to fulfill a hopeful destiny.

As far as this game goes, I don’t have a damn clue as to why it’s a Pick ‘em. Someone in Vegas must know something I don’t. Yes, this is a road game for Michigan, but they are still playing to win it all. Penn State is playing for the location and date of their bowl game. Super motivating.
