The Caps and the Flyers. The 4th and 7th seeds in the Metropolitan Division, respectively. This game is always a fistfight, and I’m here for it. Expect to see both teams working down a man for some long portions of this game. The Capitals are easily the better team, however, so expect them to get the dub.
The Flyers haven’t exactly played inspiring hockey this season. With a 16-18-7 record, it’s not hard to see why. I mean, besides Travis Konecny and Kevin Hayes, no player in Philly has over 23 total points so far this season. To put that in perspective, the Caps have five players over the 23-point mark. I’ve mentioned him before in this article already, but Travis is trying to do everything he can to keep this team afloat. He’s got 21 goals and 22 assists and has been the best player on the team by far. But the simple fact is that this is a team sport, and his supporting cast is just not enough.
The Capitals, on the other hand, have a great roster and a solid team. I mean to give you three reasons why the capitals will beat the Flyers. They are Aleksandr Mikhaylovich Ovechkin. This guy has shown absolutely no signs of slowing down on his journey to being the top goal scorer all-time in the NHL. This season the man has scored 29 goals and added in 19 assists just for the heck of it. Plus, he’s got Evgeny Kuznetsov feeding him the puck who has been elite at doing so all season. Evgeny has already got 30 assists this season, making up the majority of his 36 points, but I mean, what else can you do when you have one of the greatest scorers of all time on your team?
The Flyers may be on a little winning streak, but the Caps are easily the better team, so bet on the Capital’s moneyline and get your extra $200 if the Caps win.
