My Take:
I’ll be the first to admit it; things looked about as ugly as the blind date your friend’s girlfriend set you up on yesterday for the Football Team. What’s Eating Gilbert Grape did his best under the circumstances, but the Football Team couldn’t capitalize on a LITANY of mistakes made by the Eagles’ offense. The Football Team has shown flashes of the bright future they are trying to build in Washington, but the Cowboys are a better team on paper. However, Dallas is opening as a -10.5 favorite. That’s too many damn points against a youthful team where players are still fighting to get a spot on next year’s roster. The Cowboys are comfortable right now. Even though Mike McCarthy is historically not the smartest bowl in the…bowl drawer, you have to think that he wouldn’t play all of his injury-prone stars in a game that doesn’t mean much. The Cowboys are also undefeated in the NFC East, and if I know one thing about the NFC East, it’s that no team goes undefeated in the NFC East, regardless of talent disparity. I’m taking Washington against the spread.
