Game Preview: Purdue at Notre Dame
Saturday brings a classic in-state-Indiana clash as Purdue travels 112 miles to South Bend to take on Notre Dame. The Irish rank inside the top 25, but that’s only due to the gratuity of the AP voters as Notre Dame has dropped both of its two games so far this year. The Irish are breaking in freshman QB CJ Carr, who’s ashown some promise but needs to lock in if he wants to lead ND to the playoffs.
Purdue enters 2–1 with sophomore Ryan Browne settling into the starting role. The Boilers’ offense has been efficient, and their defense has found ways to flip momentum with timely turnovers. But their only two wins were cupcakes, and their loss game at home to the hands of USC. Vegas isn’t giving Purdue much respect — the Irish are heavy favorites at a ML of -3200 and giving Purdue and whopping 24.5 on the spread. The quality difference has not effected the total though, as DraftKings currently has the total at 51.5. Still, this game has upset potential if Notre Dame stumbles again or if Purdue’s defense creates a couple of big breaks.
