Week twelve of NFL football has arrived, and (as any Eagles fan would’ve told you at the beginning of the season) Carson Wentz is no longer a factor in the Commanders’ offense. Sure, he “hurt his finger,” but much like Philadelphia and Indianapolis realized in the past couple of years, Wentz is, to quote Dodgeball, “about as useful as a poopy flavored lollipop. Taylor “Him” Heinicke has been absolutely phenomenal for Washington, and despite Wentz being available as of Wednesday, the Commanders will be rolling without him for at least one more week – but let’s be honest, that man won’t see the field for the rest of the season. After a big win against the Texans last week, the Commanders are 6-5 going into their matchup with the Atlanta Falcons this week. The Falcons are also coming off of a win, having beat the Bears by a field goal with under two minutes to go in the fourth quarter of their game last week, which put them to 5-6 and second in the NFC South.

The Commanders have home field advantage this week, and Vegas likes them at -4. The Atlanta offense looked good last week, putting up a respectable 27 points, but if they can’t hold the Bears to less than 24 points, they’re going to have a lot of trouble with Washington. Cordarrelle Patterson had a good showing with his returned kick-off touchdown, and Mariota was fine, but Heinicke has looked fantastic in recent weeks – the only guy to lead a team to victory against the Eagles in the 2022 season. With the tandem of Antonio Gibson and Brian Robinson Jr. in the backfield and Scary Terry menacing defensive secondaries, the Falcons are looking at a matchup they aren’t ready for. It will be a fun game for Washington fans this week, so take the Commanders money-line to get your free $200 from DraftKings!
