This has not been an ideal start to the season for the Chicago White Sox. In fact, their 10-13 record is up there with Scream 4 for me as far as worst beginnings to anything I’ve ever seen. And while I still believe the White Sox will win the AL Central, much like any silicon-infused girl with 200,000 followers on Tik Tok, they are shallow. The White Sox are not a team that can afford to play baseball without the likes of Joe Kelly, Lance Lynn, Yoan Moncada, and Eloy Jimenez; they have the depth of an above-ground pool. The situation in South Side, Chicago, before these last two games, could best be described by Tim Anderson tossing up a middle finger during a game…things have looked bleak.

On the other hand, the Cubs have been surprisingly competitive. Seiya Suzuki has been sensational, David Robertson looks like himself about ten years ago, and Ian Happ has quietly put together one of the better campaigns in the NL thus far. The problem? In usual Cubs fashion, they’ve scored four runs over the last three games. Something about putting on that uniform makes guys feast or famine players. But today, today is a nice opportunity for a nice eight-run second inning. If the Cubs can get their starting pitching under control, and guys like Nick Madrigal can actually start to contribute, they *might* be a dark horse for a wild card spot. At the end of the day, when these teams meet again in late May, the healthy-ish White Sox will probably clobber the Cubs. But today, the Cubs will be victorious.

Regardless of what happens, bet $5 & get $200 back with DraftKings!
