After upsetting the Minnesota Vikings last week in a true underdog fashion, the New York Giants have advanced to the Divisional round of the 2022 NFL playoffs and will play the number one overall NFC seed, the Philadelphia Eagles. The Giants were fantastic last week against Minnesota, but Daniel Jones was the highlight of the game. He threw for over 300 yards with two touchdown passes while also picking up 78 yards on the ground. Combined with Saquon’s fifty-three rushing yards and two scores, the Giants proved what we all knew weeks ago: the Vikings are absolute and utter frauds. This week will be much tougher competition than last for New York, going up against a well-rested Eagles team who sat comfortably on their bye last week. Jalen Hurts returned for the last game of the season to beat New York (without Daniel Jones) and reach a 14-3 record. With Lane Johnson’s expected return and a week for Hurts to rest his shoulder, there could be big trouble for the Giants defense. New York shouldn’t be counted completely out, though. They’ve looked great in recent weeks, and if Daniel Jones continues to play like Mahomes, the Giants may just have a shot.

Vegas is favoring the Birds by 7.5 points going into this game, and if the lines for the Bengals vs. Ravens game showed us anything, it’s that it can be tough to cover a spread against a team you’re seeing for the third time in a season – especially for the Giants, who are now in round two of the playoffs. With that being said, though, this is going to be an incredibly tough game for New York to pull off. They’ll no doubt keep it close with Barkley’s skill in the backfield in tandem with Jones’s escapability – that’s tough for any team to consistently prevent, even the Eagles with one of the best defenses in the league – but a healthy Jalen Hurts only lost one game this season. With Brown and Smith out terrorizing the secondary and ground threats from both QB and a heap of running backs, it seems unlikely that the Giants defense will be able to come up with enough stops to allow the offense they’ve been relying on to carry the team to a victory. For New York, it looks like a tough end to a hard-fought season because they’re simply outmatched when it comes to this stacked Philadelphia team.
