As college football season nears its end, the 7-3 Minnesota Golden Gophers host the 6-4 Iowa Hawkeyes. Iowa has been hot, winning three in a row after losing three straight games to Michigan, Illinois, and Ohio State, while Minnesota hasn’t lost a game since Penn State on October 22nd. Iowa has played some incredibly tough opponents, but Minnesota has been playing well recently with a lot of help from running back Mohamed Ibrahim, who has over 1,000 yards on the season. It’s a Big 10 West showdown in Minnesota this week, and with both teams playing with a lot of strength in recent weeks, it’s looking like it’ll be a hell of a game.
Vegas has Minnesota set as three point favorites, and when you look at their home field advantage, it’s a fair line for a game that’s going to be tight – but counting out the Hawkeyes to take the victory in opposing territory would be a big mistake. They held Illinois to only nine points, whereas Minnesota let up 26. Iowa has played two of the top teams in the country, Ohio State and Michigan, so facing off against Minnesota will be a much lighter matchup than those ranked opponents.
