The Wildcats and the Spartans, a big-time heavyweight matchup. One team hopes to extend its unbeaten season while the other hopes for a bounce-back win. I’d be shaking if I were rooting for Kentucky, this Spartans team is real, and it almost beat the second-ranked Gonzaga team on Friday.
The Wildcats have looked alright. They’ve beaten two teams that had no business being on the same court as them, much less actually playing them. Besides their stud guard C.J. Fredrick there is not much offense on this team. Against Duquesne, the rest of the starters didn’t even break the ten-point barrier. Antonio Reeves and Sahvir Wheeler had solid scoring games, but you can’t exactly start three guards. They’re gonna need production from their bigs if they want to pull this game out.
The Spartans, on the other hand, almost beat the second-best team currently in NCAA basketball. Michigan State managed to hold one of the most potent offenses to just 64 total points in the entire game. The Spartans easily would have won this game, too, if it wasn’t for an intervention from the referees pulling Mady Sissoko and Joey Hauser off the court after giving them each a fifth foul in the final five minutes of the game. Once those two are allowed to play a full game, the offense will be flowing much better than it was against the Zags.
I would trust the embattled Michigan State Spartans against the untested Wildcats and take Michigan State’s Moneyline to get your free $200 with DraftKings!
