LSU and Alabama. You already know that this SEC rivalry is gonna be a bloodbath no matter who comes out on top. It’s always scrappiness to the max whenever these two teams play, and I think that type of play style lends itself to the underdogs in this case. So I would actually take LSU in this matchup over Alabama.
Now Alabama, you have to give your health respect. They are thirteen and two up to this point before their game against Arkansas, and they have looked like a solid team. However, if they do win against Arkansas, then their domination can very quickly turn into complacency. They could very easily get into a groove as teams who play seven games in a row with only two away from home often do. Especially when said team is winning most of those games. I mean, still expect forward Brandon Miller to have a big night since it seems that is a constant in life, but otherwise, I would be slightly worried about the level of comfort the Crimson Tide might be slipping into.
Up until LSU’s last few games, they’ve been right there with Alabama. And if anything, that losing streak is going to put even more fire into the Tigers to get this win against their SEC rival. They’ll have had an entire day’s more worth of rest than Bama heading into this matchup, and that can absolutely mean the world of difference, especially when they’ve got star players like KJ Williams getting that extra 24 hours. KJ has been averaging 18.5 points per game, 7.6 rebounds per game, 1.5 steals per game, and almost a block per game, leading the Tigers in every single one of those categories. Even in their losses, this man has looked like the most dominant player on the court.
