It’s funny that oddsmakers think this will be a trap game for LSU, and they will still be hungover after beating Alabama when in reality, this team has just hit its stride. The only group of guys hungover in Baton Rouge this weekend will be the fellas on greek row begrudgingly drinking as many beers as possible before 12 PM kick-off. LSU’s win last weekend was an instant classic. This team may not be as dominant as the group from 2019, but they fight like a younger brother who’s been hit in the nuts one too many times. Harold Perkins, who finished the game with three quarterback hits, a sack, and a pass breakup in addition to eight tackles, won SEC defensive player of the week. Between Matt House’s play calling, the inside pressure they get from Perkins and BJ Ojulari, and incredible play from their young DB’s, scoring on LSU recently has been more difficult than getting a Catholic girl to go all the way at her parent’s house.
Arkansas is coming off an ugly loss to Liberty, in which they were getting blown out in the first three quarters. It’s not the Razorbacks’ year, and they know it as well as anyone. While KJ Jefferson still poses a threat offensively (he finished last week with 284 yards with two TDs), their secondary is weaker than Biden’s border policy. Arkansas gives up 293.8 passing yards a game, and with Jaden Daniels’ improvement as a pocket passer, all evidence points to big games from Malik Nabers and Kayshon Boutte. The only thing the Razorbacks do better than the Tigers is run the football, but if LSU can hold Alabama to 137 rushing yards, they can keep Arkansas running back Raheim Sanders under control. The Tigers are 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight in November and 4-1 ATS in their last five after an ATS win. LSU is 6-2 ATS versus a team with a winning record. Meanwhile, the Razorbacks are 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall and 1-5 ATS versus a team with a winning record. Vegas likes the Tigers -3.5, but LSU will win this game by more than two touchdowns.
