Gotta love a good old-fashioned SEC slugfest. Auburn has been playing as well as you like; however, they have only played one ranked team so far this season and have still accumulated three losses. LSU has been on a recent cold streak, but this game against Auburn is their perfect opportunity to turn it around.
Auburn has been playing some pretty good basketball, but it hasn’t been anything really inspiring. They have yet to play a true benchmark game, with their only game against a top-25 team coming against Arkansas at home. On top of their lack of adversity against any real opponents, none of their players have been doing anything spectacular. I mean, their top scorer Wendell Green Jr. has been averaging only 13.8 points per game. He’s also leading the team in assists with 3.8 per game, which, again, are pretty scarily low numbers here. While this team has looked great playing teams that have no business being on the same court as them, their lack of talent will be on display against a real team like LSU.
LSU, on the other hand, has talent everywhere you look. Their forward KJ Willaims has been looking like a man playing a boy’s game, scoring 18 points per game and grabbing 7.2 boards per game. Not to mention the fact that he’s leading the Tigers in blocks. That kind of talent doesn’t stay on a losing streak for long. KJ is putting up 18 points per game on over 52% shooting from the field and over 45% from three. That puts him at just 8 percentile points away from averaging 50/40/90 splits. A feat that would put him in the same company as Larry Bird, Dirk Nowitzki, and Steve Nash. I’d say that’s some solid company to be with. It also won’t hurt to be playing Pete Maravich Assembly Center for this game, giving them that extra homecourt advantage edge.
LSU has all the talent on their side for this game, so bet on LSU and get $150 back instantly!
