Maryland against Tennessee, what an NCAA Sunday game. Two teams who have been red hot so far this season going head-to-head. I can’t say I’m not excited. Even though both these teams are playing great, I will still have to give the edge to Maryland for this upcoming Sunday, but honestly, it’s anyone’s game.

After losing their second game of the season, the Volunteers have gone on a seven-game unbeaten run at home. And lucky for them, the game against Maryland is gonna be played in the Thompson-Boling Arena. On top of the home-court advantage, their players haven’t been playing too shabby either. Forward Julian Philips has been leading the team in points and rebounds all the way to seventh ranking in NCAA Basketball. It also doesn’t hurt that guard Zakai Zeigler is leading the team in assists and steals, with almost four per game and almost three per game, respectively. It’s always nice to have a two-way starting guard when your team is on the hunt for wins. However, the one thing I don’t love about this team is their inefficiency. Four of their top five scorers are all shooting under 40% from the field, which isn’t exactly a great look.

The Terrapins also have only one loss on the season, and they have been the benchmark of efficiency. Juxtaposed to Tennessee, four of Maryland’s top five scorers per game are shooting over 40%. Leading these scorers is guard Jahmir Young. Scoring isn’t the only category this guard is leading in, though; he also has been the most consistent distributor, racking up three assists per game. Meanwhile, forward Julian Reese has been locking down the paint, leading the team in both rebounds and blocks. Never hurts to have a paint defender to take away the threat of easy buckets against a team that has inefficient scoring issues.

Both of these teams can win the game this upcoming Sunday; I’m honestly just splitting hairs right now. But I think that when it comes to teams this good, you have to split hairs. I would say bet on efficiency and take Maryland’s Moneyline to get back $150 back if you pick the winner with DraftKings!
