War criminals have been hanged for much less than what Michigan did to Hawaii last weekend. Following the traditional Hawaiian burial on Saturday, Jim Harbaugh announced that the JJ McCarthy era is officially underway. McCarthy racked up 229 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 19.1 yards per completion. The offense hummed to a 42-0 advantage before even heading into the halftime break. At that point, the sophomore quarterback’s day was done, and so was the quarterback battle. Plain and simple, McCarthy looks like the guy that could take the Wolverine offense to the next level. Michigan has a top-three defense in the Big 10, a defense that ESPN doesn’t stop talking about, so with a true five-star quarterback, this is a team that not only COULD beat Ohio State, they SHOULD beat Ohio State. The Wolverine defense has yet to be tested by a competent team, a trend that will continue on Saturday against UConn.

We know what Michigan is, so let’s talk about how badly they will beat a UConn team that would probably lose in OT to a Make-A-Wish sixth-grade roster. UConn football is bad…like terrible. Last week, they got torched by Syracuse, a game in which they gave up 470 yards of total offense to the Orange. Just in the first half alone, Michigan had 410 total yards on offense against Hawaii. Vegas likes Michigan -46.5, and I think they will cover. Odds are Cade McNamara, who has a Texas-sized chip on his shoulder, will play the second half of this game. If McNamara wants any chance of extending his football career, he will have to deliver. Take Michigan to win, cover, and take your free $200 from DraftKings!
