The number 9 Oklahoma State Cowboys are travelling to Manhattan (Kansas not NY) this weekend to take on the 22nd ranked Kansas State Wildcats. Here’s what you need to know to (responsibly) make the most out this sweet offer from DraftKings.
OSU has been an interesting team to follow this year. They’re coming off of a win against 20 ranked Texas, and have beaten a number of good teams. Other notable victims of the Cowboys include Baylor and Texas Tech. Their offense has been more electric than Ben Franklin’s kite, averaging almost 45 ppg and over 450 yards. The Cowboys would be undefeated if it wasn’t for an absolute battle with TCU a couple of weeks ago which resulted in a 2-OT 3 point loss. OSU is 3-1 in mid day games, they’re 3-0 in their last 3 games against the Wildcats, and 42-26 against them all time. Looking at these numbers it seems like the value is on the Cowboys.
Now for the Wildcats. While Kansas State does not have the same electric offense as the Cowboys, comparing their defenses is like comparing me to Shakespeare. Dude was kind of boring but definitely a better writer. OSU is allowing almost 450 yards a game. That’s insane. Kansas State is holding their opponents on average under 20 points, while putting up four touchdowns themselves. A fluke loss to Tulane and a tough game against TCU make up the Wildcats two losses, but they have beaten Oklahoma, Texas Tech, and recently survived at Iowa State. I think that the Cowboys defense will be their downfall and they’ll struggle to move the ball against a stout Wildcats defense as the Kansas State offense has a great game.
