This is a chance for the Phillies to turn the ship around. They have the talent (on offense) and a pretty decent pitching staff when they receive run support. If Rob Thomson can get the bullpen into shape and incentivize the field players to…not be the second-worst fielding team in the league, the Phillies can easily catch the Braves. I think this series is where Philadelphia’s season changes. After they started the season hotter than Justin Verlander’s wife doing the Cat Daddy, the Angels have looked human recently. An eight-game losing streak, mixed with the fact that Los Angeles scored three runs combined in their last series with the Yankees, has to have the Halos feeling pretty defeated. I can’t say the Phillies have been hot recently, but I can say they haven’t been eight-game-losing-streak bad.
