Game Analysis:

What an unreal NBA Postseason it has been. From sweeps, to game sevens, to crazy comebacks, we have been treated to high-level basketball all month. After waltzing through the East the Celtics punched their ticket in four games against the Pacers, and after five games against the Timberwolves, the Mavericks earned their spot representing the West. It should be a great series, and here is what you should know.

Now before the playoffs started, it did not seem like the Dallas Mavericks were given enough credit. Not many people picked them to go far, but they proved the haters wrong with some excellent basketball. It turns out putting two of the best players in the world on the same team is a good idea as the tandem of Luka and Kyrie has led the team well, scoring in buckets and really stepping up on defense. Surrounding Luka and Kyrie are some great role players, able to stretch the floor in an impactful way, but also play great defense filling in some of the holes left by their offensive stars. Luka averages almost 34 a game and Kyrie puts in over 25 of his own Three other players are in the double digits, leading to this team having a great offense that is rating top ten in the league and 7th in points per game. It did not look good for them in game one as the Celtics were really able to control this game from the tip. Kyrie will really need to step up if they want to battle back. Will it be enough to knock off the Celtics?

Now if you ask me I wouldn’t be so sure. The Celtics are favored in game two AND the series for a really good reason. They just easily strode through the east without their 7 foot big man who averages a bunch of points and stretches the floor unlike anyone else on the Celtics. Porzingis is back with a vengance, giving the already stacked Celtics the boost they might need to take out the Mavericks. The Celtics are second in the NBA in points scored per game with 120.6, have the number one rated offense, and a top three rated defense to boot. All of those ratings and averages are higher than the ratings of the team from Dallas. Don’t ask me what it means, but the Celtics have 20 more Pythagorean wins than the Mavs!! Jayson Tatum is silencing haters, Brown is showing why he deserves his contract, and Derrick White is maybe the most beloved role player in the world. Holiday has stepped up in the clutch and the bench players know their role and perform It so so well. This team is a well oiled machine and I think they should be hanging banner 18 very soon. If game one was any indicator this should be a fun series, and hopefully a good one for Boston fans as they look like a team on a mission. Give me the Celtics in game two, what do you guys think?
