Both of these secondaries better have stayed in the film room into the late hours of the night because they got carved like Thanksgiving Turkeys last week. The Raiders had a close game as dictated by the scoreboard, but it certainly didn’t feel like a five-point loss to the Chargers. Las Vegas’ offensive line let more people through their border than the Biden administration. Derek Carr was sacked five times. That’s not good news for a team that let their quarterback get pressured 239 times last year. Carr didn’t look like he had a hold on the game. His only accurate throws were to the Chargers and Devante Adams. While the Raiders didn’t have many bright spots in week one, it seems as if Adams and Carr recreated the iconic scene from Step Brothers during training camp because Adams was targeted seventeen times. The All-Pro receiver finished with ten receptions, 141 yards, and a touchdown.

The Cardinals got so emasculated by the Chiefs that I wouldn’t be surprised if Jordan Peterson showed up to their facility this week. The good news is that they’re a lot better of a team than what they showed last Sunday. Vance Joseph blitzed Patrick Mahomes on fifty-four percent of the Chiefs’ sixty-six plays. That would mean a total of thirty-six blitzes. I haven’t seen someone blitz that much since I played Madden 2012 with my ADD-riddled younger brother in our Mom’s basement. Patrick Mahomes set an NFL record against the Cardinals for completion percentage against man-to-man coverage. A big factor? Sunday was not Isaiah Simmons’ best game wearing red…by any stretch of the imagination.. Kyler Murray looked okay, he missed here and there, but he did what he could in an offense that seemed less synched up than a sorority house menstrual cycle on the first day of the semester. The Cardinals didn’t look great, which will happen to a team that plays the Chiefs. Kyler Murray Call of Duty blah blah blah Kliff Kingsbury good looking choke artist blah blah blah. Any reasonable person would tend to back Kyler Murray with everything he said at his July press conference. He’s been counted out his whole life, and even though he might have to stand on his tippy-toes when taking group pictures with other quarterbacks, he’s a premier NFL talent who deserves his contract. When firing on all cylinders, the Cardinals’ offense hums like a Porsche from the 1980s. Vegas likes the Raiders -5.5, but we are about to see Kyler Murray will his team to a much-needed win. Take the Cardinals to win, cover, and take your free $200 from DraftKings!
