Game Analysis:
What an unreal NBA Postseason it has been. From sweeps, to game sevens, to crazy comebacks, we have been treated to high-level basketball all month. After waltzing through the East the Celtics punched their ticket in four games against the Pacers, and after five games against the Timberwolves, the Mavericks earned their spot representing the West. It should be a great series, and here is what you should know.
Well, it was a tough start to the series for the Mavericks. Despite Luka playing well, the team has really struggled as the Celtics win both games in Boston going up 2-0 in the series. The first game was really bad, but the Mavericks were able to keep game 2 close until Boston pulled away in the final minutes. Who knows if it is the curse of Lucky, or he is just really rattled by the chirps from Boston fans, but Kyrie has not looked like his normal self at all as he really is having trouble scoring. The Mavs just will not be able to beat the Celtics with just one of their stars playing well as the bench does not have the depth that the Boston one does. I do think they might take one of these games at home, but will they be able to really mount a comeback?
If you ask me I wouldn’t be so sure. Sure the Mavs are favored in their first game at home, but will the crowd really make much of a difference in this series? Despite Jayson Tatum not shooting the ball well, the Celtics have dominated this series thanks to production from their other players. The Celtics have threats at every position, I mean even their 7th and 8th guys have 30 point games this season. Although he has struggled shooting, Tatum is still greatly impactful as his playmaking is fantastic. Brown has looked great, as have Porzingis, Horford, Holiday, and White. This team is a well oiled machine and I think they should take this series handily. Who do you have?
