Game analysis:

While the Colts and Ravens might have slightly different outlooks on this season, their week 3 matchup should still be an exciting one. Of course, a lot of that relies on the health of Colts rookie QB Anthony Richardson, who left last week against the Texans with a concussion, and is still in the protocol as late as Wednesday. For obvious reasons, Richardson has often been compared to Ravens star QB Lamar Jackson, so football fans as a whole are hoping that the two will be able to square off this week for the first time.

For the Colts, this season is all about building for the future, much of which revolves around their franchise QB Anthony Richardson. That’s what makes the decision to play him or not this week an interesting one, as they might not want to rush their young QB back into action before he is fully healthy. Backup QB Gardner Minshew stepped in for the Colts last week and did a great job of finishing off the Colts first win of the season, against divisional rival Houston. While Richardson certainly has upside, Minshew has a lot of starting experience, and is more than capable of holding his own against a tough Baltimore defense. RB Zach Moss will look to build off his last game as well, as he rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown.

It’s hard to imagine that the Baltimore Ravens could have gotten off to a much better start than they have so far in the 2023 season. They sit at 2-0 coming into this game, most recently defeating division rival and one of the biggest juggernauts in the NFL, the Cincinnati Bengals, 27-24 on the road. Lamar Jackson was efficient, and threw for 2 touchdowns with no turnovers, while RB Gus Edwards led the rushing attack with 62 yards. Star TE Mark Andrews made his season debut, after missing week 1 against the Texans, and hauled in a touchdown. The Ravens defense is still one of the very best in the NFL, and their newest addition, pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney, registered his first sack with his new team last week. I am personally very high on this Ravens team this year, so long as they can manage to stay healthy for once, and I am taking them to get off to a 3-0 start in this game, but I could see this being a let down spot for them as well, with the Colts potentially pulling off a big upset.
