Baker Mayfield played alright against his former team, throwing for 235 yards with a touchdown, a pick, and a score with his legs. CMC punched one into the endzone, but the run game was weak overall as they barely picked up 50 yards on the ground. Robbie Anderson seems to be Baker’s favorite target, and the Giants will look to neutralize him so he can’t replicate his 100 yard game. The defense was nothing special and if they want to win against a hungry Giants team, they’ll need to improve in almost every area.
Brian Daboll might need a wheelbarrow for his balls after calling a two-point conversion to win the game against the Titans. Saquon looked amazing, rushing for over 160 yards and picking up a score. Danny dimes threw two himself, and four receivers had multiple receptions. The Giants offense actually looked functional, and the defense held a 2,000 yard rusher in Derrick Henry to 82 yards while keeping him out of the endzone. After facing a tough opponent they’ll have an easier time against the Panthers, and unless they take five steps backwards, I think the Giants should be able to start their season off 2-0 for the first time since I had facial hair.
