The battle of New York, two teams deep in the middle of the pack, it’s crazy. Both teams are currently trending toward the play-in with way too many games left in the season. The Nets have a losing record at home, and the Knicks have a losing record away. So, naturally, this game sees the Nets on their home court.

The Nets are not doing great; I’ll give you that. However, they still have a top-three player in the world on their team, and if I know nothing else about basketball, I know that counts for something. I mean, just a few days ago against the Wizards, he was making grown men do actual splits just because he could. The Nets are also currently on a two-game win, albeit against the Wizards and Pacers and right before they’re about to play Luka, but the most points they’ve allowed in their past four games has been 109. Again, this is all right before playing Luka. I’m not saying the Nets are defensive juggernauts, but they can hold their own defensively. And they’re going up against a team that has only broken the 110-point barrier against the bottom half of the league’s defenses. So not exactly the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Knicks are four and five this season, but all five losses have been against deep playoff teams. They also have a win against a projected top-four eastern conference team, the 76ers, which is not something to sneeze at. So far this season, this team had beaten the teams it was supposed to beat, and well, lost when it was assumed they would lose. So if anything, pretty predictable. But in this game, they will be against the team directly below them in the seeding, so that it could go either way. However, with their win against the 76ers, they have proven they can beat a one-faceted offense with a super-star. And if there were ever a time to beat the Nets, it would be after a loss to Luka, and during the mess they have going on off the court.

With Kevin Durant being asked to carry the full weight of this offense on his back, it becomes easier to slow down the Nets’ offense. Making it the perfect time for the Knicks to win against their New York rivals. Bet on consistency, and take the Knicks Moneyline to get your free $200 with DraftKings!
